You must have language proficiency in English and the target language in order to deliver the best possible interpretation.  The State of Oregon requires a level of advanced mid and the ACTFL requires an advanced level of proficiency.


You will be issued a Certificate of Completion after your have successfully met the following:

  • Completed this 64 hour program
  • Successfully passed a Medical Terminology Assessment with a minimum score of 72%.
  • Successfully passed an Interpreter Knowledge Assessment with a minimum score of 72%
  • 100% Attendance is required

Your Certificate of Completion can be presented to the Oregon Health Authority and the national certification organization to meet the  training requirements necessary to become a qualified or certified health care interpreter in the State of Oregon and a certified interpreter nationally.
